Paula Chebat, RDHAP, BSDH, is a licensed dental hygienist and faculty member at Southwestern College’s Dental Hygiene Program, where she also graduated. She advanced her career by becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice (RDHAP), expanding her ability to provide care for patients with limited access to traditional dental settings. Paula currently serves as the Alternate Trustee for the California Dental Hygienists’ Association (CDHA) San Diego Component, where she advocates for the profession and the communities it serves. She is the founder of Bye Bye Biofilm, a brand dedicated to bridging gaps in dental hygiene education, professional development, and access to care. Her passion lies in empowering both new graduates and practicing hygienists to embrace their full scope of practice while elevating public awareness of oral-systemic health connections. Paula has received recognition for her leadership and service, including scholarships and awards that highlight her commitment to advancing the profession. She lives in San Diego, California, where she balances her professional roles with entrepreneurship and creative projects. Outside of dentistry, Paula enjoys travel, content creation, and volunteering.
