Blending his strategic mind with a vision for what’s possible, Ben Buzbee brings a unique view to Today’s RDH as a Co-founder and COO. His hands-on approach to getting things done has helped build what started as a side hustle into a leading digital-only publication and events company for dental hygienists across the country.

From delivering results for client campaigns to ensuring consistent audience growth, Ben is responsible for overseeing all internal operations for Today’s RDH. Leveraging his ability to know what the market wants, Ben was the driving force in building Today’s RDH and social influencer Kara Vavrosky’s audience. He grew her social media following to over 200,000 dental professionals under the Kara RDH brand. He parlayed that success into creating a full-blown digital media and events company with Today’s RDH.

Growing up in West Linn, Oregon, Ben got his career start in the finance industry, working as an analyst for a consumer finance company. This led to him to then launch his own financial acquisition firm. Unfortunately, this entrepreneurial endeavor didn’t work out as planned, and Ben made the difficult decision to shut it down after three years of operation. He then took his passion for technology, combined with his astute, analytical business sense, and started working as a contractor for an agency under the Department of Energy.

However, the entrepreneurial bug that Ben had since childhood was too strong for him to ignore. While working full-time, and growing the Kara RDH audience on the side, it became clear it was time to take things to the next level. Ben and Kara partnered up with Michael O’Donnell, who has 25 years of experience in business-to-business media sales, and the three of them launched Today’s RDH, which quickly became the most-read publication among dental hygienists. They now have a team of 25 regular writers, an editor, and a filmmaker, all dedicated to creating and distributing high-quality content on a daily basis.

Ben received his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Oregon, where he was involved in numerous extra-curricular activities from Student Government to Greek Life. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, reading up on pop culture, and spending time with Kara (now his wife) and their two rescue chihuahuas, Bug and Ravioli.
