Liana Lu, RDH, is a dental hygienist practicing in NYC. She graduated from NYU College of Dentistry’s dental hygiene program in 2017 and has been working full-time in private practice since August 2017. Her patient care motto is that honesty is always the best policy and that it is our jobs to tell the patients what we see, what they can do, and how we can help. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, baking, photography, reading, being involved with the Asian American community, and keeping up to date with the latest dental news. She lives in Queens, NY.

As dental hygienists, we have been taught cultural competence, and respect for diversity on a multitude of levels are important core values to being a competent dental hygienist. Cultural competence means that we are aware of and understand the differences and similarities that exist between different racial and ethnic groups, and we not judgmental about the differences.
