Kayla Wells, RDH, BS, is a dental hygienist, wife, and mother. In 2015, she earned her Bachelors of Science degree at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Kayla was inspired to become a dental hygienist when she was in high school. She feels that hygienists do more than just “clean teeth.” It is imperative that oral hygiene instruction happens at every dental visit. Communication is very crucial. She believes you have to level with the patient for them to understand the correlation between oral health and overall health. This is why she became interested in writing. Kayla wants to inspire other hygienists to understand different dental professionals’ viewpoints and new innovative ways to reach out to patients. Her goals are to participate in a mission trip that offers treatment to people who do not have access to dentistry. Another goal is to become successful in the writing field and work with future dental hygienists in a dental hygiene program. She happily resides in Eastern Tennessee with her husband and two daughters. Kayla also has two dogs named Penny and Moose.
